NCA (National Communication Association) Awards

Each year, NCA honors the best in communication, presenting awards for outstanding scholarship, teaching, and professional service. Distinguished Scholar Award honors a lifetime of scholarly achievement in the study of human communication. NCA Distinguished Scholars are elected by previously named Distinguished Scholars.

International Congress of Qualitative Inquiry

The Seventh International Congress of Qualitative Inquiry will take place at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign from May 17-21, 2011. The theme of the 2011 Congress is "Qualitative Inquiry and the Politics of Advocacy." Increasingly in these troubling political times qualitative researchers are called upon to make their work relevant. They are encouraged to pursue social justice agendas, to be human rights advocates, to do work that honors the core values of human dignity, and freedom from fear and violence

RIBA President's Prize for Outstanding University-located Research 2010

This awards scheme was established by the Royal Institute of British Architects' Research and Development Department to reward and encourage outstanding research in architecture carried out by PhD students, academics and practitioners.

SDHS De La Torre Bueno Prize 2010

The de la Torre Bueno Prize is awarded annually to a book published in the English language that advances the field of dance studies.

The Alf Andrew Heggoy Book Prize 2009

Each year the French Colonial Historical Society presents a book prize in honor of one of its founding members, Alf Andrew Heggoy. The Heggoy prize is for the best book published during the previous year dealing with the French colonial experience from 1848 to the present.
